A Journey of Meaning, Healing, and Legacy

In a world that races forward, where noise often drowns silence and speed eclipses soul, Explore Ikigai was born as a whisper from the heart—a gentle rebellion to reclaim a life of depth, purpose, and peace.

This is not just a website.
It is a sacred mirror of one man’s promise to his lost son, to his beloved wife, and to the aching hearts of millions seeking light amidst darkness.

At the heart of Explore Ikigai is a story—a real story.
Of a father who lost his only son at 27 to the silent storm of bipolar disorder.
Of a couple who, in the wake of unimaginable grief, vowed never again to celebrate festivals—but instead, to celebrate life by walking through the world with eyes wide open and hearts unshuttered.

From the Himalayan stillness of Nepal to the Arctic silence, from spiritual sojourns in India to rainforests echoing with life—this platform chronicles a journey of healing through motion, meaning through service, and purpose through presence.

Explore Ikigai is a life-long mission shaped by five sacred pillars:

🌱 Ikigai – the quiet purpose that gets you out of bed each morning.
🌏
Travel – not as escape, but as return—to nature, to humanity, to the divine.
💓
Healing – not just of body or mind, but of soul.
🤝
Service – where joy is shared, and pain is held with grace.
🕊️
Legacy – the kind that lives on in actions, not monuments.

Here, you’ll find not travel guides but soul maps.
Not blogs, but meditations.
Not inspiration, but invitation—to live fully, love deeply, and leave gently.

Whether you are 25 or 85, whether you’ve lost your way or found your spark, Explore Ikigai welcomes you—not to follow someone else’s path, but to remember your own.

Because the world does not need more tourists.
It needs more
pilgrims of purpose.

Let us walk together.

🌟 Our Mission

To inspire a long, meaningful life rooted in purpose, peace, and service.

ExploreIkigai is more than a travel journal. It is a sacred calling. A living testament to a man and a couple who turned personal loss into global contribution — who chose not just to survive, but to shine.

This platform honors a life-long vow to:

  • Live to 100 with purpose, joy, and dignity

  • Travel the sacred and exotic corners of Earth

  • Transform grief into service, and pain into peace

  • Create a legacy of health, compassion, and global awareness

  • Build a global community aligned with soulful living

We believe in the Japanese philosophy of Ikigai — the reason to wake up each morning — and combine it with the ancient South Asian commitment to Dharma, Seva (service), and Shanti (peace).

🎯 Vision

To complete a sacred 100-year life journey filled with meaningful milestones, including:

Every 5 Years:

  • 2 Global Exotic Tours (12 days each)

  • 2 India Pilgrimage & Cultural Tours

  • 1 Domestic Nepal Exploration Tour

Ongoing Life Projects:

  • Establish Wellness & Meditation Centers

  • Create Caretaker Homes for the elderly

  • Launch a Community Hospital

  • Run Digital Awareness Campaigns on health, longevity, and inner peace

  • Publish a Life Memoir to inspire future generations

  • Help build a Global Tribe committed to soulful and peaceful living

💞 Our Why

ExploreIkigai was born from both deep love and deep loss.
After the untimely departure of our beloved son due to bipolar depression, we — a couple left alone in the world — chose not to mourn forever, but to move with meaning.

We will not celebrate traditional festivals. Instead, we will celebrate life itself — through travel, transformation, and service.

ExploreIkigai is our promise to ourselves, and to the world, that:

🌺 Grief can bloom into legacy.
🌱 Loneliness can awaken purpose.
🌎 And one couple’s journey can echo across continents.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 About Us – Our Story, Our Soul

“We didn’t choose this path. It chose us. And we chose to walk it — with purpose.”

We are an ordinary couple from Nepal with an extraordinary commitment —
to live fully, love deeply, and serve selflessly for the rest of our lives.

Our journey was not born out of success, but out of sorrow.
Not out of comfort, but out of a calling.

💔 A Love That Left, A Legacy That Began

In our late 50s, just when we were dreaming of peaceful retirement, we lost our only son — a bright soul of 27 — to suicide after a long struggle with bipolar disorder.
Our daughter, married abroad, was far away.
The festivals felt empty.
The home felt heavy.
The world, too loud.

We could have broken.
But instead, we broke open — into service, into healing, into silence.

We chose to stop celebrating festivals, and started celebrating life itself — by helping others find peace, purpose, and presence.

🕊️ From Grief to Grace

We transformed our sorrow into soulful projects:

  • A 100-year life plan with 5-year phases — each filled with service, travel, and reflection.

  • The creation of Basanta Memorial Foundation — named after our late son (though never publicly shared), to serve the elderly, the abandoned, the broken.

  • Annual Dashain travel pilgrimages, instead of rituals — exploring India, Nepal, and the world to deepen our spirit.

  • Development of fasting programs, spiritual audio guides, and meditation rituals — for everyday seekers like us.

  • A full Ikigai-inspired lifestyle of mindful health, compassionate living, and global goodwill.

🌸 What We Stand For

We are not influencers.
We are inner-fluencers.

We believe:

  • Long life is not enough. A meaningful life is essential.

  • Service is not charity. It is healing.

  • Travel is not escape. It is awakening.

  • Grief is not weakness. It is a doorway.

  • Ikigai is not a trend. It is truth.

🌍 Why "Explore Ikigai"?

Because "ikigai" gave us language for what our heart already knew —
that life becomes beautiful when it becomes useful.

And "explore" — because we are not masters. We are students.
Every day, we walk forward — slowly, soulfully, and sincerely.

This platform is not about us. It is about you.
Your journey. Your heart. Your healing.

🤝 Walk With Us

If you are searching for something deeper…
If you’ve lost someone or lost yourself…
If you want to live slowly but mean more…

Then you’re home.

Let’s explore ikigai — and leave behind not regret, but a legacy.

🎯 Our Mission – Live With Purpose, Leave With Peace

“A long life is not our goal. A meaningful life is.”

We are on a soul-led mission to transform pain into purpose, silence into service, and age into awakening.

Our journey is not about building fame or fortune.
It’s about building
legacy — one act of compassion, one breath of clarity, and one sacred step at a time.

💠 Our Core Mission

To inspire and support millions of seekers across the world to:

  • Live a healthy, peaceful, and long life — with intention.

  • Awaken their ikigai — their reason for being.

  • Heal their grief, guilt, or confusion through meaningful service.

  • Travel not to escape, but to experience inner transformation.

  • Embrace fasting, meditation, and rituals as medicine for the soul.

🌏 Our 5-Pillar Life Plan

Across 41 years (from age 59 to 100), our life is divided into 8 transformative stages, each driven by a deeper mission:

  1. Self-Healing & Preparation
Silent retreats, fasting rituals, grieving the loss of our beloved son.

  2. Building & Leading a Socially Responsible Industry
Leading Nepal Xinlong Group of Industries as CEO, setting a benchmark in sustainable manufacturing.

  3. Transforming Sacred Sites
Building Mukundeshwar Mahadev Spiritual & Cultural Center at Shivghat.

  4. Creating Healing Spaces
Establishing a Wellness & Meditation Center in our hometown for free community use.

  5. Caring for the Forgotten
Creating an ideal Elderly Care Home for abandoned and homeless seniors.

  6. Raising Global Awareness
Using YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and personal outreach to touch over 1 million lives through holistic knowledge.

  7. Writing an Autobiography of Impact
A book to immortalize the wisdom and lessons of this sacred journey.

  8. Establishing a Community Hospital
Offering love, dignity, and care to those who have no one left.

💚 A Life of "Seva" (Service)

Everything we do — from our 72-hour fasts to our guided audio meditations, from our India-Nepal pilgrimages to our world travel legacy plans — is infused with seva (selfless service).

We believe:

  • The best medicine is meaning.

  • The best prayer is presence.

  • The best journey is inward.

  • And the best legacy is love.

🕊️ Our Promise

We will walk this path slowly.
We will make mistakes.
But we will never stop walking — toward a world of peace, health, and harmony.

This is not a project.
This is a prayer.

And you — dear visitor — are part of it now.

🌟 Our Mission

To live with meaning. To serve with love. To leave with grace.

At Explore Ikigai, our mission is not to teach, preach, or impress.
It is to
embody.
To walk each step of this life with courage, compassion, and consciousness.

This mission was not born in a boardroom.
It was carved from tears in the quiet corners of hospital rooms, on mountain trails where echoes of grief whispered louder than the wind, and in the warm silence of a home once filled with laughter.

After losing a beloved son to the depths of mental illness, after watching love endure loss and grow wiser, a new vow was born:

To transform private pain into public purpose.
To ensure no life is wasted, and no sorrow left unloved.

🌍 What We Stand For:

🧭 Purposeful Living:
We help people discover and live their ikigai—their reason for being. Not in the future. Now.

🧘 Inner Peace & Resilience:
Through fasting, mindfulness, silence, and sacred routines, we offer a return to self.

🧳 Transformational Travel:
Each journey is crafted not to collect places, but to dissolve illusions—of separation, of identity, of time.

🫶 Social Impact & Service:
Every 5 years, we launch bold humanitarian missions—from wellness centers and elder homes to spiritual sanctuaries and community hospitals.

📖 Legacy Creation:
Your life is a story worth telling. We guide others to live in a way that their last chapter becomes their most beautiful one.

Our vision

We want to live in a world where people can buy homes that match their needs rather than having to find a compromise and settle on the second-best option. That's why we take a lot of time and care in getting to know our clients from the moment they reach out to us and ask for our help.
